Melbourne, Florida / May 6, 2015 – Secured data center solutions provider SD Data Center has expanded its leadership team to include Frank Huston as vice president and chief operating officer. This move enables the firm to roll out new offerings more quickly and to better serve its growing customer base.
Mr. Huston comes to SD Data Center from netDirective Technologies, where he also served as its chief operating officer and architected the firm’s managed services platform. His background includes extensive experience in technology services for the healthcare industry, which is one of SD Data Center’s key vertical markets.
The company has seen significant customer growth with many businesses recognizing that utilizing a data center solution provider can reduce costs while meeting the need for more sophisticated security capabilities. “Because of the need for cloud services and virtualization, as well as growing data security concerns, there is a burgeoning demand from companies of all sizes,” Mr. Huston said. “Capital expenditures that were traditionally committed to infrastructure investment can now be spent on core operations. Plus, using our expertise can improve their technology capabilities, reduce operating costs, and free up facility space so it can be used for revenue producing functions.”
SD Data Center’s direct affiliation with global satellite communications solutions provider Satcom Direct has also presented significant opportunities for growth. “As part of Satcom Direct, we have been able to dramatically expand our capabilities via new partnerships and shared services. We are even able to create solutions using both terrestrial and satellite networks: we supplied one particular healthcare related customer with conventional fiber-based network connectivity for its domestic operations, and a stable satellite-based connection for its operations in South America where wired networks are not reliable. This resulted in a seamless solution that is secured by the services offered by SD Data Center,” said Rich Pilock, president of SD Data Center.
